Photos of the Day #10
Saying Goodbye
Have you ever heard the saying, "You never know what you got until it's gone?" Of course you have. Well I'm here to tell you that whoever came up with that saying may have been on to something.Today, the 26th of August is the last day I will spend here in my hometown for a while. All of the cardboard boxes I see piled up indicate new beginnings while the things that don't make it into those boxes are left behind.
The hardest moments so far this past week have been leaving my home church and youth group behind. I know that I will make new Christian friends at college and find a church to attend up there but there's nothing quite like the feeling of being at your home church.
I am the type of person who suppresses stress until it absolutely has to be let out. I acknowledge that I'm stressing about school and leaving people behind and not being able to see friends or family for maybe months at a time but until there is a trigger, such as saying goodbye, I will avoid thinking about it.
My best friend reassured me that, "To be truly successful in life, people have to take a few big steps and one of those may include leaving the ones closest to you behind for a while." I am excited at the same time to be continuing my college education at a 4-year school. I am also excited to get married next summer and have my husband join me at college next fall. But even before that I need to patiently wait for his return in December, just in time for Christmas.
Well, it's about time for me to sign off for now and get packin' for my next big transition in life.
Thanks for reading along.
Until next time!

Aspirations
Today!
What do we have today dearie?
Well sir, I gotta do parent question session for Riverland Community College.
Whats that for?
Well, you know, they ask questions about the school and I answer them from a student't perspective. And I even get a gift certificate out of it!
Hey, now that sounds exciting.
You know whats more exciting though is i get to go to the cities and do a model casting call at 6:00pm. Scruples is bringing in hairstylists from all around the nation to do a hair show and they need models. I hope I get the opportunity because I get free hair services, free hair product, and 100 dollars if I get picked.
I'm also dropping off applications to businesses in downtown before my big appointment!
Kbaieveryone!

Controversy
Food for thought: Is it fair to fund Planned Parenthood with our tax dollars but not organizations like Rachel's Hope?

Perfect Endings to the Beginnings of the Rest of our Lives.
The Frequency Show was pretty amazing. Well I mean I can't say I'm a great dancer but the crowd still loved it.
Can I say I did really well on my solo: Taylor the Latte Boy.
The end of this show means just one thing...or a few things. Let me provide an overview...
Wednesday: Logic final at 10:15
Thursday: Religions of the world final at 8:00 freakin' AM. Performing Arts Banquet at 6:30pm
Friday: Well lets just say it's time to start playing this song again.

Whats up?
Finals week. What of it? I haven't studied.
I found that i've put myself into this routine of just going through the day and trying to be done. The play is over so I can finally breathe but it was kind of a bittersweet ending...last Riverland production for me for a while....and our theatre director's last Riverland play before retirement.
Tomorrow is my Frequency show. Nervous. Excited. Almost overrr.... Graduation is Friday. Good bye Riverland, hello North Central.
I've kind had a change in career path. Ultimately it would be awesome to have my own photography studio so that is still a goal. But what I want to go to North Central for is Journalism. I hate writing.....so why would I do this. Well, picture this: traveling the world as a missionary helping others and sharing the Gospels and taking photos of what we're doing as a missionary using them for a job with a Christian magazine. Awesome right?
I'm excited to grow up.

Ohh I love technology, but not as much as you, you see?
I really really like photography.
I have recently been messing around with an old SLR camera I picked up this summer at a garage sale for 25 bucks. I thought it was quite a find. came with a couple filters, 2 lenses and a case of course. Its an Olympus OM-1.
Its been really fun going back to using this manual camera but I'm at a disadvantage kind of because I no longer have a darkroom to develop them in. So I will have to go to get them developed. Not as fun.
I have also decided that after I am making some moola in the cities I would like to update my current D40 body to a D300s expected that photography skills have enhanced by then. Is that the right word to use? But seriously look at this beauty ---->

Can we eat the cake now?!
Today I went through a lot of varying feelings. I worked at the college bookstore today. Its the week before the second semester starts so a lot of people were coming in to get their textbooks. It was swamped but that means it went by faster. After work I spent time in my favorite boss's office. My love KG/Cindy. Unlike the usual upbeat awesome atmosphere, it was instead very somber and emotional. KG was packing up her office for her new job. Meaning all of her ambassadors would see less of her. :( We went out to eat and chatted about a lot of memories. After dinner, I had my awesome, fantastic, fabulous friend over and we built a cake for my birthday!.....(which was in November.) We even put a make-shift candle on our funfetti cake...also known as 'the match.' And hey guess what.. while the cake was baking I taught my friend to play mary had a little lamb on the piano. After we both felt really accomplished we cut the cake! ...yea we sure did cut the cake.
Well my awesome, fantastic, fabulous friend thought that it would be cool to NOT cut the cake geometrically so we cut it in organic figures...and ate it with our hands.
Anyway. So here we are. writing a blog. Cuz we're fantastic people. -.-
I'm done now.

Purpose
If I were to start a blog what would I write about? Every detail of my existence? No. What I ate recently? Possibly. Updates on cool photos I took? Probably. Irrelevant information? Definitely.
And so it begins!
And so it begins!
